PENINSULA PYTHON DAY 2010 EVENTS.  Check closer to Peninsula Python Fest for any additional 2010 events!

Slither through Peninsula, seek out pythons and learn the story of the Peninsula Python!  Come meet "Little Big Girl", a 15 foot python at the Boston Township Hall, check out the library for a snake program, slide in all the stores and find more python activities?  Don't forget to stop by the museum to learn the real story of the Peninsula Python.  If you live in town, you are invited to decorate your yard in python fashion.

Stop by the Boston Township Hall from 10 am until 4 pm and help us design the largest python ever!  Pick out your python piece, design your section and add on to the slithering snake!  Sssssee you there!

*Path of the Peninsula Python
Where in Peninsula is the python???  Find out at the Cuyahoga Valley Historical Museum from 10 am to 4 pm.  Learn about the real history of the Peninsula Python in our exhibit and join the Python Posse by playing a game of Peninsula Python Pandemonium and color your own python.  Win prizes and enjoy some squirmy treats!

*Akron ZooMobile - Snakes
The Akron Zoo will be stopping by Peninsula Library at 11:30 am with a few of their snakes!  Come learn about what snakes do and eat!  This program is free and for all ages.  The program lasts about 45 minutes.  See you there!

Python Scavenger Hunt & Trivia Trail
Heritage Farms offers activities all over the farm.  Pillowcase pythons, trivia trail, and scavenger hunt and hidden "slitherers" are just a few of the activities.  Children can vist the Python painting station to choose and decorate their own mini-python.  Fee:  $5 per person for art supplies.  Opens at 9 am.

*The Peninsula Python Book
The story of the Peninsula Python is told in limerick style in the book The Peninsula Python written by George Hoy with illustrations by George Hoy and Honore Guilbeau Cooke.  This delightful book is available at The Downtown Emporium and at the Inn at Brandywine Falls web-site, where George and Katie Hoy open their doors to guests at their bed and breakfast. 

*Python T-shirts
Purchase your Peninsula Python t-shirt at Peninsula Area Chamber of Commerce businesses.  Shirts are $2.00.  What a Sale!  The proceeds go the the Chamber of Commerce.  The Peninsula Python logo was designed by Honore Guilbeau Cooke for the 50th anniversary of the python legend in 1994.  Among Honore's many artistic contributions to the Peninsula community are the "Mural of Transportation into the Valley" which was installed on the front of the library's new building in 1964 and the Peninsula Python mural which was installed inside the library in 1970.
